This weekend ... was incredible.
To be more specific... my Momma is incredible.
This weekend was the Race for the Cure in OKC, and I had the pleasure of trying to keep up with Momsie in the 5k. She tore it up! Seriously, she whoop-ed us all. Just like she whoop-ed her cancer.
To re-cap - Mom was diagnosed in March. Had a double-mastectomy in April.
60-ish days later, reconstruction. Then a few complications caused a few more surgeries. And those surgeries caused a few complications.
60-ish days later, reconstruction. Then a few complications caused a few more surgeries. And those surgeries caused a few complications.
But the most important part of all this - Momma beat her cancer. And she did it with such grace... such faith... and such determination. Mom had cancer, but the cancer never had Mom. She is an inspiration to everyone around her. In short, she is AMAZING.
So back to the Race. Mom whoop-ed us. She had quite the fan-club join her in the Race ... our family and friends rallied around her to celebrate her survivorship. We even had shirts made as a surprise to her.
She loved them.
Here are some pics from the event ...
